Charlotte Powers: Hidden Power Released! (Like three months ago but oh well!)

February 12, 2012

Ahaha. Yes. Sometimes I do silly things, like prepare a release notice for a book and get it all ready and then forget to actually push the ‘publish’ button. For three months. To repeat myself; ahaha.

Anyway, the third book in the saga of would-be greatest superhero and obsessive diarist Charlotte Powers is very definitely available now!

Charlotte Powers: Hidden Power (And in the UK, too!)

So, if you liked the first book and if you’ve already read the second then, well, why not proceed in a linear fashion and read the third, too? Unless you already have, in which case thank you! Well done! You’re aces and I hope good things happen to you and your family. Really, you’re pretty great. (And rather attractive, I’ve heard.)

Shall we look at the cover? Let’s look at the cover.

(Three months, goodness gracious me.)

Charlotte Powers: Power Play now available!

September 2, 2011

Yes, the sequel to superhero diary novel thing Charlotte Powers: Power Down has been released and is now available to buy!

Charlotte Powers: Power Play (And in the UK, too!)

So, if you liked the first book then the chances are rather high that you might enjoy this one, too. Shall we have a blurb? Let’s have a blurb:

Villains Act. Heroes React.

But sometimes reacting isn’t enough. Segregation events continue around the world, but Charlotte and her family are always one step behind, never in time to stop them. Thousands of people are being taken, but for what purpose? Towards what end? Charlotte doesn’t have any answers, and even the questions are proving elusive.

But now there comes a single clue, a tenuous pattern, one fragile lead that points to Powerstone City, home to semi-retired superheroes, vicious gangs and armoured vigilantes … and a greater threat than Charlotte ever imagined.

Miya Black, Pirate Princess III: Fractured Lives Released!

July 28, 2011

Yes, as the title says, Miya Black, Pirate Princess III: Et Cetera has been released! Available now from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk (and Amazon.de, even!).

Just embarrassingly opaque; Miya Black II now 99 cents!

July 19, 2011

What’s this? More news? Just that Miya Black, Pirate Princess II: Freedom & Responsibility is now available for the princely sum of 99 cents (or the awkward figure of £1.14 because of blasted rubbishy VAT). For how long will this state of affairs last? Who can say! Could this have something to do with the imminent release of Miya Black III: Fractured Lives? Perhaps so!

New website and a general update *salutes* General Update!

July 12, 2011

Time for an update, I think! Presently I’m hard at work on the new Clover Island Publishing website, which can be found here:

cloverisland.co.nz

Upon this website I’ll be syndicating both this CIP news thing and my more blathery Writing Is The Easy Part bjournal, as well as gathering together all of my published and soon-to-be-published books in one place and all that kind of websitey stuff.

As far as actual book publication goes, the second Charlotte Powers book, ‘Power Play’, is well on its way to a late August release, although depending on various factors that might slip to a September release instead. Miya Black, Pirate Princess III: Fractured Lives is in the final stages of proofing, and should be out before August begins. Resonance Book Two: Against Darker Days requires a lot of attention, but if things go well I might be able to release it before the end of the year. Further than that I’d hesitate to say, but generally I’d say things are going very well indeed, and thank you for asking.

Clover Island Publishing Red Cross Donation Thing

May 1, 2011

Hello! April has ended and May has begun, and so Clover Island Publishing’s “Every Little Bit Counts All Profits Go To Disaster Relief” thingy has come to an end. Results? Well, let’s have a look …

… mm-hm, uh-huh, yep, oh! I say. Well I never. Hmm. Hah! Ho-ho …

Well, sales themselves come out to, oh, let’s just go ahead and round that up to $25. Now splitting that evenly between the Japanese and New Zealand Red Cross would be sensible and fair, but also a teeny-tiny bit mean. So, what the heck, it’s the worthiest of causes, I’ll just go ahead and donate $25 to both Red Crosses.

Sincere thanks to everyone who bought a book during March and April, all those little cents really do add up.

Right! That’s ‘altruism’ taken care of, from here on out it’s pure capitalistic greed.

*watches sales plummet to zero*

Oh well, at least I weaselled some money for Red Cross. Thank you again to everyone–and remember: take care of yourselves, and each other.

The Undying Apathy Of Imogen Shroud Release Date

April 9, 2011

Good news, everyone! Or ‘everyone who loves zombies’, anyway. Which is everyone! Why? Well, clearly, the answer is this:

Everyone. Loves. Zombies.

The Undying Apathy Of Imogen Shroud is now in the final stages of polish and proofing and making-good, well on its way to a mid-late April release. How mid-late? At this stage, I can confidently state that April 19th may very well be a date to mark on your colanders. Or, indeed, calenders. Or, indeed, calendars. Shall we celebrate with some pre-release cover art indulgence? Why not!

What? Darth BunnyFerret? What are you doing, you crazy critter! Get outta here!

Ahem. Here’s the REAL pre-release cover art indulgence:

The Undying Apathy Of Imogen Shroud

Writing Is The Easy Part (Everything Else Is Harder)

March 10, 2011

As part of my continuing efforts to further expose myself (sauce!) and my books, I’ve started a new journal: Writing Is The Easy Part. In it I’ll be writing about my daily efforts to struggle through the murky quagmire of self-promotion, and probably anything else that flutters through my brain(s). If you’re interested in that sort of thing, have a read! If not, then, well, maybe I’ll just go and have a little cry. You beast.

Christchurch Earthquake 2011 : In The Interest Of Rebuilding

March 3, 2011

Because every little bit helps, however small, Clover Island Publishing will be donating all of its March profits to aid in the reconstruction of Christchurch, via the New Zealand Red Cross.

Also if you’re in Christchurch, or have been affected by the recent disaster, send me an email and I’ll gift you any of my books that you’re interested in. You’ll need an Amazon.com (or .co.uk) account and a Kindle, iPod, iPad, Android or other device capable of reading .mobi format e-books.
